Welcome to Simply the Bex!

My name is Rebecca Mercer, and I am a 45-year old trans woman, working through not only the ins and outs of being trans on a daily basis, but also dealing with borderline personality disorder.

I live in Devon in the UK, and this blog came about as a way of helping me to deal with the ups and downs of what feels like a crazy life! It might be a bit of a rollercoaster, but, as the late, great Freddie Mercury once said:

“The most important thing, darling, is to live a fabulous life. As long as it’s fabulous, I don’t care how long it is.”
